B.A. (Hons.) and B.B.A. (Hons.) in Liberal Arts

The Liberal Arts program at USLA ensures that the student is exposed to real world learning through live internships along with classroom learning. The program is designed to inculcate Critical & Analytical thinking, Math, Reasoning and Language Skills. The program will ensure that the student is well grounded in writing, reading and listening skills which are critical to the advancement of the individual in his/her career. Emphasis would be on Co-Curricular activities to ensure holistic development of the individual. The students of Liberal Arts are expected to be taken up for various jobs in Business, Government, Education or Research.

The program will be a balanced mix of core foundation courses along with specializations in various disciplines. The student is expected to take up TWO specializations in the course while taking up additional electives of their choice in areas such as Performing & Visual Arts, International Relations, Creative Writing, Design and Media Studies.

The Unitedworld School of Liberal Arts program offers a four year full-time B.A / B.B.A liberal arts degree program. At the end of four years the student will be awarded a degree in the Majors that the student has studied in.

The four year full-time Bachelor Degree of Arts / Business Administration (Liberal Arts) program is covered over eight semesters. The Liberal Arts program has been designed after a thorough research across international and national schools as well as the requirement of the industry has been taken into view. Hence the course offers students a wide range of subjects in the curriculum that the student is free to choose as per her wishes. The student is expected to choose TWO Major areas of specialization apart from a host of Elective courses. These courses can be completely interdisciplinary thereby ensuring that the learning of the student is completely dependent on the interest of the student rather than a rigid curriculum dishing out a specific set of courses.

A degree in Liberal Arts, aims at creating a strong, well-rounded foundation for all students, regardless of their major field of study. Students are exposed to a range of b core courses which are the foundation courses that are as diverse as History, Sociology, Literature, Economics, Mathematics, Communication Skills, Creative writing and Critical thinking.

BA(Hons) courses is divided into 8 semesters. In the first four semesters foundation courses in Communication Skills, Quantitative Aptitude, History, Economics, Research and Political science are taken up. Each of the semesters from the third semester onwards would have two Core subjects to be taken up by the student. And the student is given a leeway to choose electives from various other disciplines in Liberal Arts and Humanities. The course also ensures that in each semester, the student takes up a live internship from any organization including in an NGO.

A student is expected to take 10 Core courses and 8 electives apart from doing 8 Internships along with either a International Immersion program OR a Rural Immersion program in the Eight semesters that he/she would be engaged with the USLA


USLA follows a model of teaching which includes lectures, case study discussions, live projects under guidance of faculty, field-trips, peer learning, presentations and seminars along with audio-visual aides. The objective is to develop critical thinking, articulation and overall personality development of the student. KU believes in all round development of an individual. The curriculum is designed to ensure development of mental and physical faculties of an individual through compulsory participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
